CLAREMORE — No. 3 Broken Arrow captured its seventh victory in its last eight outings Friday with a 24-0 district win over Claremore at Lantow Field.

With the win, Broken Arrow (7-2 overall, 5-1 in District 6A-3), set the stage for next week's home matchup with Bartlesville.

"I thought our defense really came to play tonight, kept their head in the game and gave us great field position the whole game," coach Ron Lancaster said. "Offensively, we just made too many mistakes to capitalize on what the defense gave us."

The Tigers scored on their first possession, going 53 yards in four plays. The drive culminated in a 32-yard touchdown strike from quarterback Archie Bradley to Ronnie Price.

Broken Arrow maintained its 7-0 lead well into the second quarter until a Zebra fumble gave the Tigers a short-field possession at the 8-yard line with just more than three minutes until the half.

After a loss of a yard on first down, Bradley threw his second scoring toss to Alex Cochran in the corner of the end zone from 9 yards out.

Carl Salazar kicked the point after to increase the Broken Arrow lead to 14-0.

The ensuing kickoff sailed into the end zone, giving Claremore (4-5, 2-4) possession at its own 20 with 2:42 to play before intermission.

After an incomplete pass and a 5-yard run by Zebra quarterback Gavin Little, the Zebras faced third-and-5 deep in their own territory.

A fierce Broken Arrow blitz forced Little from the pocket, where he threw an interception to the Tigers' Zack Mills at the Zebra 37-yard line with 1:43 to play in the second quarter.

Six plays later, Salazar drilled a 20-yard field goal to make the halftime score 17-0.

After forcing Claremore to three plays and a punt to open the second half, Broken Arrow took full control of the contest when Terry Williamson bulled in from 1 yard to increase the Tigers' advantage to 24-0.

"Give Claremore a lot of credit as they jumped into a 9-man defensive front, which we had not seen, and it gave us some trouble for a time," Lancaster said. "I'll certainly never complain about a 24-0 victory, but we have some problems with execution, which we will work out on the practice field next week.

"All in all, it was a good victory."

Props to the Zebra D. Would've been only 14-0 without offensive miscues.

Would've been 56-0 without our offensive miscues. I mean five drives start inside Claremore territory and we only come away with seven points!!!! Mix in a forward pass once in awhile!!!!

I didn't see you guys fumbling on your own without getting hit or getting penalized unfairly. And I don't think your running back went out of the game by falling down. Looked like we put a pretty good shot on him to cause that. You're the one who's critical of your team and I can see why. Very unimpressive offensively compared to what I'd thought they would look like. Good luck in the playoffs. Looks like you'll need a lot of it.

Your right BA will always be the red headed step child because we should dominate. Because it not like Claremore was beating Jenks at Half-time. Oh wait they were so dont talk to me about not dominating. congrats on letting them score on your defence
