BROKEN ARROW — Broken Arrow used a strong defense and dominating running game to break open a first-round Class 6A playoff game and defeat Enid 45-13 at Tiger Memorial Stadium.

Sophomore running back Andrew Griffin led Broken Arrow (9-2) with 12 carries for 121 yards and three touchdowns Friday night.

"Andrew is our No. 2 guy behind Steven (Hopper), but every time he goes in, he makes something special happen," Broken Arrow head coach Ron Lancaster said.

Hopper carried 17 times for 76 yards and two TDs.

"Steven is more powerful but still good at juking people," Griffin said. "But I'm all about juking people."

Broken Arrow (9-2) advances to a quarterfinal road game against fifth-ranked Midwest City (9-2) on Friday night.

Broken Arrow had 48 carries for 272 yards and used its rushing attack to control the clock.

Quarterback Archie Bradley was 10-of-15 for 151 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 33 yards.

"Archie played his most consistent game of the year," Lancaster said.

Lancaster coached in the final home game of his Broken Arrow career.

"Playing at home for the last time for me, it was a thrill to see our kids come out and play so well," said Lancaster, who has said this will be his final season coaching at Broken Arrow.

The Broken Arrow defense helped the Tigers gain control early.

Safety William Watford intercepted a pass at the Broken Arrow 49-yard line. Nine plays later, Broken Arrow capitalized when Hopper scored on a 1-yard touchdown run.

"Our defense has done something like that almost every game," Lancaster said. "The defense has come up with big plays and helped our offense succeed all year."

The defense allowed 44 yards rushing and pressured Enid quarterback Alex Patterson on nearly every passing play.

Enid (6-5) was aided by some trickery on its first scoring drive. Running back Jonathan Burton received a pitch and ran left before throwing back right to Patterson for a 19-yard gain.

Dillon Collums also caught a key 18-yard pass when Enid was faced with a fourth-and-9. Burton capped off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.

"I said at the beginning of the year that this team had the potential to be the best team in the state," Lancaster said. "Ever since the Jenks game, I think we've gotten it together and we're ready to make a real run at it."
