Tulsa-area high school football fans will face a tough decision on Friday night.

Top-ranked Jenks (13-0) will face No. 2 Union (12-1) for the Class 6A state title at the University of Tulsa's Chapman Stadium, while No. 1 Cascia Hall (12-0) faces No. 3 Berryhill (11-2) for the 3A championship at Oklahoma State University's Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater. Both games will start at 7:30 p.m.

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association also announced the sites and times for next weekend's other remaining playoff games.

Boone Pickens Stadium will be the site of a championship doubleheader on Saturday as eighth-ranked Bixby (9-4) plays No. 6 Midwest City Carl Albert (11-2) at 1:30 p.m. for the 5A gold ball, while No. 2 Oklahoma City Star Spencer (11-2) plays No. 4 OKC Douglass (10-3) for the 4A title at 7:30 p.m.

Also on Saturday, top-ranked Lincoln Christian (12-1) will play No. 8 Pawhuska (11-2) in the 2A semifinals at 1:30 p.m. at Skiatook High School.

Why the heck do Cascia Hall and Berryhill fans have to drive all the way to Stillwater for this game? Stillwater's a logical choice for East vs. West matchups, but to have two Tulsa-area teams play there? Why don't they play it at Union's stadium? That's plenty big for a 3A championship game.

Why schedule the 6A and 3A Championships on the same night, at the same time?

Area fans would enjoy attending both of these games.

GO CASCIA!!!
GO JENKS!!!

During the Coach Trimble controversy, several Jenks fans commented how high the academics are at Jenks stating they are #1 in the state year in and year out. While the standards are high at Jenks, I would encourage all Trojan fans to be at Chapman Stadium and in their seats by 7:10 PM on Saturday before playing Union. The Class 6A Academic Football State Champion will be introduced at that time and I am proud to say it is the Bartlesville Bruins!!!
