Sharon was currently serving in the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association. She frequently lectured nationally in the area of matrimonial law and was well respected by her peers, receiving numerous awards and accomplishments over her years of practice, including Pro Bono Service Award from the Oklahoma Bar Association. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sharon devoted a great deal of her time and energy to causes that were important to her and the community. In addition she was a faithful and committed member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church for over 15 years, teaching Sunday School, Disciple Bible Study, sponsoring Walks to Emmaus, and even teaching cooking classes. She was a very generous person in her professional and private life, and even continued her generosity after her death by contributing all of her vital organs, bones, skin and tissues to many people whose lives will be richly blessed by her gift. Sharon was happily married to Tulsa attorney Jim Lang for the past fifteen years. She was preceded in death by: her husband Jim, who died last week in the same house fire, and her parents, Harold G. In addition they were always hosting large family gatherings at their home during the holidays and any other occasions they could get everyone together. Family was extremely important to both of them and they loved to spend time with their grandchildren, taking them to the zoo, having them over to spend the night, and attending any activities they were involved in. Sharon was also very proud of her Godchildren and had many longstanding relationships with both her Bridge club that has met together for the last forty years, and her Bunko group that has been together for the last seventeen. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that remembrances in her name be made payable to the University of Tulsa. Checks may be mailed to the University of Tulsa, 800 S. Tucker Drive, Tulsa, OK 74104. My heart aches for Sharon's family. She was my attorney and my friend. She was a whirlwind of energy with a quick wit and she definately knew her stuff. She was a brilliant lawyer who fought hard for me and my daughter. Thanks to Sharon our family is whole and happy. I will miss her very much and hope that her family can have some sense of peace knowing she helped so many people and made a monumental difference in their lives. I always thought Sharon would have made a great Judge. God bless you Sharon!!!!
