Cherry Street Farmers Market
It's one of the best ways to spend a Saturday morning in Tulsa.
The Cherry Street Farmers Market, at 15th Street and Peoria Avenue, is a weekly tradition for foodies and early birds who gather to snag some of the best tomatoes, greens, meats, cheeses and baked goods the state has to offer.
When the market started in 1998, it was part of a burdegoning local foods movement that has gathered steam in recent years with the launch of several other area farmers and gourmet markets, as well as restaurants promoting local produce, meats and cheeses.
But the original is still the best place to grab a handful of fresh basil, snag a blackberry cream scone, smell the fresh flowers, stroll with a cup of coffee and enjoy the market's bounty.
Those who missed out on the delicious finds at this year's market should mark their calendars for when it reopens in mid-April next year.
