Amish food
Amish communities in Oklahoma have long been known for their fresh, homemade goods including breads, cheeses, jams, pies, honey, and the list goes on and on. Whether you buy from one of their booths at a local festival, or travel 45 minutes east of Tulsa to Chouteau, you'll be satisfied.
The food served at the many Amish-owned restaurants and shops is made from scratch. The cooks shell their own peas and knead their own bread. Special dishes include homemade noodles, rolls, salads, fried chicken and countless others that will make you miss your grandmother's cooking. While in Chouteau be sure to check out the Dutch Pantry, the Cheese House, Nettie Ann's Bakery and Ropp's Bakery.
