1. What are the top three issues in your district?
These are the top priorities: Health care reform. Education. Roads and bridges. Weaning away our dependence on foreign oil. Economic development of rural Oklahoma.
2. Lawmakers approved a stand-still budget for the coming fiscal year. Critics blamed previous tax cuts for a drop in revenues, while tax cut supporters say such cuts spur the economy. Do you believe Oklahoma can sustain additional tax cuts?
We did not propose tax cuts this past year because as always we want to approach fiscal policy prudently. I do believe the tax cuts spur the economy.
3. Do you think illegal immigration is a serious problem facing Oklahoma? Why or why not?
I believe the federal government needs to address this problem but in the meantime I do not think Oklahoma taxpayer dollars should support persons in our state illegally.
4. Do you believe voters should be required to produce identification at the polls?
Yes. In this day and time asking for identification to vote is a practical idea.
5. Should the governor be taken out of the parole process?
I believe criminals should serve their sentence. The legislature’s priority is keeping Oklahoma families safe and crime low.
