1. What are the top three issues in your district?
Education, Quality Jobs, Roads & Bridges
2. Lawmakers approved a stand-still budget for the coming fiscal year. Critics blamed previous tax cuts for a drop in revenues, while tax cut supporters say such cuts spur the economy. Do you believe Oklahoma can sustain additional tax cuts?
When government reduces taxes, it takes less money out of the pockets of tax paying citizens and allows them to spend that money the way they see fit. Increased spending means more goods and services are purchased which in turn generates more revenue for the state. Although I believe in reducing taxes, it must be done responsibly.
3. Do you think illegal immigration is a serious problem facing Oklahoma? Why or why not?
Yes, first and foremost, we are a country built on the rule of law. Illegal immigrants are bypassing the system set up to legally welcome new citizens and are an economic drain to our state. Jobs for citizens are lost, healthcare costs skyrocket, and crime increases.
4. Do you believe voters should be required to produce identification at the polls?
Yes, to insure the integrity of the process. We show identification to cash a check at WalMart - how much more important to validate the voting process?
5. Should the governor be taken out of the parole process?
Unsure, would need to study the matter
