Why are you seeking this position?
I am seeking reelection to the board of education for a number of reasons. I feel that quality public education is very important to the future of our city and state. I feel that I can continue to make a contribution to our school system to ensure that we are ready to meet the challenges ahead.

What do you believe are the chief responsibilities of a school board member?
The chief responsibility of a board member is that of policy maker. As a board it is our responsibility to employ a quality superintendent and to provide oversight in the administration of the business of the district.

How much time would you plan to spend in the schools in your voting district on a weekly basis? As a school board member, I am not involved in the day-to-day operation of the school. I am available to spend whatever time is required to perform my duties in an advisory capacity.

What should the relationship of the school board be to the superintendent?
The only employee of the district who works directly for the board is the superintendent. The relationship between the board and the superintendent must be one of trust and open communication.

What are the greatest strengths of the school district? The strengths of our district are centered in our administration, faculty and staff. There is a strong spirit of cooperation and a desire to continually find ways to improve the quality of curriculum and overall educational environment.

What are the greatest weaknesses of the school district? Glenpool is a growth district and has always struggled to keep pace with the funding necessary to stay ahead of the curve from a facilities standpoint. This will continue to be a challenge we will face in the near term future. As our tax base grows and we continue to attract new business and industry, this situation will improve.

What changes and/or new initiatives, if any, would you like to see in the district? I would like to see the continuance of emphasis on curriculum improvement in our district.
