How would you describe your band's music?

Folk rock/pop

How did you learn about Dfest?

Dfest has been a growing force in oklahoma for the last couple of years now, it's getting to the point where it's hard not o hear about it! News spreads fast concerning things that are awesome.

Why did you apply for Dfest?

To be a part of an awesome movement in Oklahoma's local music scene

What is the most fun thing about performing live?

I'd have to say finishing a set and knowing that I gave it 110 percent, and knowing that I did everything in my power to give the fans what they want.

Have you performed at Dfest before? If so, what was your favorite part about it? If not, what are you most looking forward to?

I havn't actually, I look forward most to seeing copious amounts of fans enjoying music that was grown right here in Oklahoma performing next to national acts, then those fans realizing that there is some really top notch music coming out of Oklahoma right now

Will you be going to the music conference? If so, what are you most looking forward to?

Definatly, I'm all about soaking up every bit of information that I can concerning this crazy career choice, aka "the music business".

What projects is your band currently working on?

I'm curently focusing on finding people to suround myself with that are way smarter than me, and then there's the writing, writing, writing and then some more writing.

How has the economy changed your band, touring, making music, etc.?

Well living here in Oklahma we're kinda somewhat shielded from the worst of it, I believe that Forbes listed Oklahoma as one of the top most recession-proof states in the nation. People are still spending money here.

As a musician, which three bands are you most looking forward to seeing at Dfest?

There are gonna be some other great locals performing this year, I'd have to say the Uglysuit, The City Lives, and Ali Harter. Really great people and musicians

Will you offer meet-and-greets after/before your shows? If so, when/where?

I'm all for it, I'll be performing at the IDL Ballroom at 7 p.m. on Friday the 24th. I'm sure afterward they'll give me a chance to meet some great people

What's the funniest/weirdest story you have about any song you've written?

"Valentine's Eve" was written about a girl I dated for a while years ago, My wife and I are still friends with that girl.

What can fans expect during your Dfest performance?

Soul, I try my best to relive the stories I'm singing about in my mind. Ergo, the emotions are felt during the performance.

How is Dfest different from any other show you do?

I'd have to say the scale, being that it's a local event, the number of fans that come out for two days is amazing.

Where would you like your band to be two years from today?

I'd like to be in the position where I can continue to support myself and my family.

What's the coolest fact about your fans?

I've found that my fans are very intelligent; they'll find meanings in my songs for their own lives/situations that are far beyond the context that I wrote them in.

What tips do you offer to "beat the heat" at this July festival?

water, water, water... and then some more water

What's the weirdest/quirkiest fact about any member of your band?

Hah! OK, here it is, ever since I was a little kid I've rolled my head back and forth while listening to music in bed. People that have witnessed it say that I look like I'm having a seizure or something! Sometime's I'll listen to the same song over and over again for hours while doing it!
