We play Cerebral Psychedelia-Shoegaze with a tinge of folk.
Working on Sophomore album currently.
Last year when we played Moe-down [Summer Camp Music Festival] we had what we will call a wonderful evening of self-discovery that ended in a "vision quest" early the next morning. Our producer and engineer and sound man took these crazy Buddha-cons a friend had brought back from his recent visit from Thailand and carried them out into this field and positioned them to look at people as they walked by. We sat on our bus for a few hours laughing fairly hysterically at people trying to figure out what was going on.
Feeling the pulse of everyone come together. It is quite addicting.
We have played Tulsa several times, and every time has been amazing. We played Dfest last year and more recently at Cain's Ballroom in support of Umphrey's McGee. The people and the music can't be beat.
I would like to see Andrew W.K. I would like to hear what he has to say these days.
We are taking time off right now for writing and recording.
The economy has mostly just affected ticket sales and album sales. That does hurt when you are trying to make guarantees and sell merch. Gas has gone down quite a bit since last summer, which is the biggest cost in a tour.
The port-o-potties for obvious reasons.
We will all be hanging out all weekend so come and find us and hang out!
We wrote a song called "The Way of Swaying" after a long night of heavy partying at Pachyderm Studios outside of Minneapolis while on tour with Iron and Wine last summer. The studio was where Steve Albini recorded Nirvana and the sound board there was used to mix albums by John Lennon and AC/DC. Just being there in that environment, recording and losing ourselves was weird in itself. The song took about seven hours from conception to completion.
We will be introducing a few new tracks off our upcoming album, and we plan on being one of the loudest, most raucous acts to play this year.
Festivals are always a great time because it gives you a chance to submerse yourself more into the overall experience of generational music than just a single show at a venue. Dfest is a prime example.
Still not on MTV.
We love the diversity of people we attract as fans. We have heard 4-year olds singing out our songs at shows, and 65 year old hippies as well.
Water and umbrella hats and water. And water.
Kyle has not cut his hair in at least five years.
What’s you’re favorite snack on the road? Cup Ramen and Beef Jerky.
