The job of city auditor is not the most high profile post in city government. It often goes unnoticed until something goes wrong. More often than not, when the auditor doesn't make headlines he is doing a good job.
The Tulsa World has thrown its support to businessman David Patrick in each of his half dozen races for the District 3 City Council seat. In the past two years, Patrick's done nothing to change our minds. He clearly is the best choice, and deserves re-election.
Three proposed city charter changes will go before voters on Nov. 10. Two are relatively innocuous and should be approved. The third is a bad idea that gets the city on the wrong side of state election law and should be rejected.
He's not the most vocal member of the Tulsa City Council, but in his two terms of office, Dennis Troyer has accomplished much. District 6 voters would do themselves and the rest of the city a big favor by returning him to office on Nov. 10.
In one of the city's most hotly contested council races, incumbent District 4 Councilor Eric Gomez, a Republican, is in a rematch with the former councilor, Democrat Maria Barnes.
If the city of Tulsa were blessed with nine G.T. Bynums, there'd be a lot less trouble in the City Council chambers and a lot more sense in local government.
