SEPTEMBER NIE CLASSROOM OF THE MONTH

Cedar Ridge Elementary
Fifth Grade
Teacher Sarah Worley

Every Friday since the beginning of the school year, students were introduced to one to three articles per section of the Tulsa World. Ms. Worley picked out the high points, and then the class discussed them. Last Friday, the students looked at articles on their own. The students were divided into groups of two or three and given a section of the Tulsa World. The students had to read through the newspaper, select an article, read it and report on it to their classmates. Their report included the name of the article, the name of the source, the date, a summary of the article and one to three interesting facts about the article.
