Dale Ross
Dale Ross is Newspaper in Education coordinator for the Tulsa World.
His job is to get you the classroom newspapers you order. This includes
starting your school newspaper order and stopping papers during your
school vacation days. Dale is the person to call if, for some reason,
your newspapers do not arrive when or where they are expected. Service
to your school is important to us, so please call Dale if there are
any problems.
Dale also handles registration for all Tulsa World NIE workshops, schedules
plant tours and handles order fulfillment for NIE educational materials.
Dale has been with the Tulsa World since 1987. In addition to his role
in Newspaper in Education, he also serves as circulation traffic coordinator.
He earned a degree in sociology with minors in geology and geography
from Northeastern Oklahoma State University at Tahlequah.

Sara Amberg
Sara Amberg is the Educational Services Coordinator for the Tulsa World. Her job is to develop and direct all Newspaper In Education programs. To do this, she works with other departments at the World as well as other professionals and organizations across the state to provide the most innovative and useful resources for using the newspaper in the classroom.
Sara is responsible for implementing teacher workshops and coordinating/writing in-paper features. She is also available for classroom presentations on writing topics related to the newspaper, journalism, or a free-press, as well as, a 1-hour workshop targeted at high school students to raise awareness of First Amendment issues and the rights it guarantees. She received her bachelors in English and writing from the University of Tampa, FL and her masters from the University of North Carolina. For ten years, Sara has worked as a teacher both at the college and high school levels. She was a Fulbright Lecturer in Albania in 2001 and has published as a freelance writer.
NIE Teacher Advisory Board
Newspaper in Education at the Tulsa World is assisted by an advisory
board of 20 area educators. This group was formed to foster a mutual commitment
toward educational goals in our community. The duties of the board include
providing advice and feedback on NIE programs and assisting in curriculum
evaluation and development. They also serve as ambassadors for the Tulsa
World to their respective districts.
