All workshops offer state/district staff development hours equal to the number of hours attended. Registration includes refreshments, materials, newspapers and a teacher’s guide with 25 student supplements when available.


“Opinions”: From Cartoons to Columns - Featuring Tulsa World’s Political Cartoonist Bruce Plante and Editorialist Wayne Greene

This workshop will feature Tulsa World Political Cartoonist Bruce Plante and Tulsa World Editorialist Wayne Greene. Both will share their experiences and insights on constructing informed and entertaining opinions. As well, teachers will learn new activities and resources to guide their students in becoming better readers and writers of persuasive and argumentative works. The workshop will specifically address PASS objectives for Language Arts, Visual Literacy and Social Studies for grades 5-12th.
