WASHINGTON - U.S. Sen. David Boren, D-Okla., said Wednesday

Dan Webber, who has served as his legislative director since

1991, will become his new press secretary.

Webber, 26, is a native of Okarche, Okla., and was graduated

from Oklahoma State University with a degree in economics.

He is currently attending Georgetown Law School in Washington

at night.

Webber succeeds David Hoffman, who is leaving Boren's staff

to enter law school at the University of Chicago.

Boren also named Stacey Shawn of Oklahoma City as his assistant

press secretary. Shawn, 22, was graduated from Southern

Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, with a degree in

English.

Webber will be succeeded as legislative director by Joe

Harroz, 25, of Oklahoma City.
