“Coach JC, how are you able to make such a great impact?” I get asked this statement on a regular basis. People come to me when they desire to be more and achieve more in business and in life.

Maybe it’s to start your personal brand, take your business to the next level, have deeper, stronger relationships, make more money or make a greater contribution.

First of all, today is your day to stop putting off your dreams and goals. You’re here on purpose. You have a purpose. Your life has value and you are on a mission. I tell you that because as entrepreneurs and business owners, it’s easy to get discouraged.

I was encouraged years ago by a consultant to make a to-do list, and that to-do list became my greatest adversary. I would lay my head on the pillow at night only getting a quarter of this long, exhaustive to-do list completed that day.

That would lead to feeling defeated, discouraged and overwhelmed. If you’re like I was, you don’t feel you have enough time to get everything done, to be successful each day.

Today I have great news for you. Throw your to-do lists away, baby. Today I want to show you how to win the day so that you can become the most productive person you know, get stuff done, and lay your head on the pillow at night with peace of mind.

Plan and prepare to win

Set aside time at the beginning of every day to plan your day. This time is to think, strategize and plan out your day.

As Dale Carnegie said, “An hour of planning can save you 10 hours of doing.”

It may seem counterintuitive to spend time planning, when you feel you don’t have enough time as it is in each day. This time you spend planning will allow you to be more, achieve more, and make each day count.

Here is your “Win the Day” game plan:

Eliminate distractions

Eliminate those things in your life that are distractions. Those things that bother you, that you tolerate, where you are annoyed or frustrated. Those things that steal your time, energy and momentum. This might be social media, an employee that is always complaining or a friend that steals your positive energy away.

Stephon Covey said, “The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.”

First, write down the things that used to be on your to-do list … your tasks, things that need to get done. Write down all the things that you believe have to get done.

Next, write down your big 3. Your big 3 are your tasks, from your to-do list above, that absolutely must be done today. Your commitment today. The has to happen.

Write the vision

Write down your vision of what today would look like if at the end of the day, when you lay your head on your pillow, you won. What would have to happen to bring you joy, happiness, a feeling of accomplishment and success today?

Be intentional

Ask yourself this one powerful question, “What is my intention for the day?” What is important to you? What can you get excited about today? Be specific.

For the next seven days, execute your Win the Day Game Plan. After seven days of creating this ritual, you will create momentum, you will create breakthroughs and you will win more in your business and in your life.
