A Collinsville man was hospitalized after being injured in a car accident early Tuesday morning, June 4.

The incident occurred around 4:50 a.m. on County Road 1170 about two miles south of Burn Flat, Oklahoma, in Washita County, according to the accident report.

It states that Isaiah J. Stoner, 22, of Collinsville, was driving eastbound on 1170 in a 2012 Chevy Equinox when he drove past a “Bridge Out” sign into a washed-out roadway and off of a 20-foot cliff.

Stoner was transported to a hospital in Clinton with head, arm, trunk and leg injuries and then transferred to a medical facility in Oklahoma City in serious condition, the report shows.

It further notes that Stoner was not wearing his seatbelt and lists driving “too fast for roadway conditions” in rainy conditions as the cause for the collision.

The accident was investigated by the Custer/Washita/Dewey county detachment, assisted by Washita County Sheriff’s Office and Burn Flat EMS.
