Three players from the area have been invited to suit up for the upcoming Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association All-State game.

Owasso pitcher David Sandlin and shortstop Connor Beichler, along with Collinsville third baseman/pitcher Hayden Minton, have been chosen for the East 6A-5A squad to compete in the All-State game June 2 in Enid.

Sandlin led the Ram pitching staff with a 1.18 ERA in 47 1/3 innings of work. The Eastern Oklahoma State College signee posted a 5-0 record.

Beichler, a soon-to-be Sooner, tallied a .313 batting average while leading the Rams in runs scored (45), triples (six) and stolen bases (24).

Towers, Foster and Inouye chosen for golf squads

Taylor Towers and Madison Foster were honored among golf’s elite high school seniors last week.

Towers and Foster were each named to the All-State East roster by the Oklahoma Coaches Association, which was recently anounced.

Towers concluded her career at Rejoice Christian as a four-time top-three finisher at state. The Missouri State signee was a state champion in 2017.

Foster led Owasso throughout the spring and earned All-State honors after finishing in a tie for ninth at the Class 6A state meet earlier this month. Foster was part of the Rams back-to-back state champion teams in 2016 and 2017.

On the boys side, Rejoice Christian’s Cole Inouye was named to the East squad.

The boys and girls All-State matches will be played July 22 at Cherokee Hills in Catoosa.

Wall named to All-State tennis team

Owasso’s Eric Wall was selected for the East roster for the OCA All-State match.

Wall and Jake Swanson teamed up to finish fourth at state in No. 1 doubles. Wall concluded his Ram career as a three-time state qualifier.

The All-State boys and girls matches will take place July 23 at the University of Tulsa’s Michael D. Case Center.
