Sand Springs Chamber President Kristen Cepak recently presented Sand Springs Community Services Executive Director Nathan Woodmansee with a $2,000 check raised during the Chillin’ and Grillin’ event the weekend of May 30.

Woodmansee said the donation will help the nonprofit, which provides temporary assistance to people in crisis situations, fund their food pantry and provide financial assistance to clients.

“While we were planning the event, we felt the need to do more for the flood victims,” Cepak said in a statement. “The idea was brought to the executive board that we would put our good fortune to work for the community. We feel blessed to have been able to donate $2000 to the Sand Springs Community Services. We know that Nathan and his team will be good stewards with the money.”

Sand Springs Community Services provides assistance with food and clothing, ID and birth certificate issues and bus passes for the newly employed as well as financial assistance for rent and utilities. The agency is located at 114 W. 4th Street.
