Changes are coming to Okie Spice and Trade Co.
The specialty store, which opened in November of 2017 at 501 W. 2nd Street, is planning to move to a new, central downtown location at 107 N. Main Street by the fall. The store offers spices, sauces, snacks, cooking utensils and novelty items like shirts, accessories and lotion.
Owners Steve and Kim Zieg are also adding gourmet blended cheeses to their repertoire with The Cheese Factory. They plan to offer smoked bacon ranch cheddar cheese, spinach and artichoke cheese and more.
“We decided a different location would suit our needs better,” Kim said. “I think we’ll be able to bring new customers (downtown).”
She said the new location offers them more space for things like The Cheese Factory and she looks forward to being part of the downtown business community and events.
Okie Spice and Trade Co. received the Business of the Year award in January of 2019.
