A local mother-daughter duo is gearing up for the release of the sequel to their book “The Boarding Pass” called “Future Flights.”
They have a book launch party set for 7 p.m. May 30 at the Hampton Inn in the Tulsa Hills at 7004 S. Olympia Avenue W. “Future Flights” is currently available on Amazon and online book sellers as either an e-book or a paperback book.
Betty Gossell and her daughter, Karen Pickens, co-wrote “The Boarding Pass” in 2017 as a collection of stories about people whose lives were connected by one airplane seat. Gossell frequently traveled herself as a healthcare consultant.
“I often wondered about the lives of the people sitting near me – and in this case, the boarding pass I found became the impetus of the original book,” Gossell said in a statement. “It seemed only natural to continue writing and to watch the passengers work toward the end of their stories.”
The sequel reportedly continues the stories from the first book- sometimes the next weekend, sometimes years later – and they continue forward to resolution of the initial situations.
