Wendyl Wayland Griffin Wendyl Wayland Griffin, age 82, passed away from this life on June 16, 2019 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs, Ok. Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 8 am to 8 pm with family to greet from 5 pm to 7 pm at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, June 20, 2019, 2 pm at Olivet Baptist Church of Tulsa, Ok. Wendyl was laid to rest at Woodland Memorial Park of Sand Springs, Ok. Wendyl was born on April 25, 1937 in Madill, Oklahoma to his parents Jacob Paul Griffin and Emma Lucille (Shaw) Featherston. He received his education from Central High School in Tulsa and enlisted with the U.S. Army on January 28, 1960 and was honorably discharged on March 5, 1962 after nearly two years of service. Wendyl married the love of his, Tiffany Behrens, just a few short months later on July 28, 1962. He was employed as a Structural Iron Worker with the Local 584 for 46 years; it was a profession that he excelled at and cherished. In Wendyl and Tiffany's free time, they would travel all over in the United States in Canada in their RV, exploring the wilderness and majestic beauty of the North American Continent. He also enjoyed golfing, his metal working with fences that he had designed, and attending at Olivet Baptist Church. Wendyl will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family and the moments they spent together. He is preceded in passing by his parents Jacob Paul Griffin and Emma Lucille (spouse Charlie) Featherston, and his grandson Halston. Wendyl is survived by his wife of 57 years Tiffany Griffin, his sons Daryl (spouse Kathy) Griffin and Wendyl (spouse Shelley Keho Boyd) Griffin, his brother Charles Griffin, his five grandchildren Brandi (spouse Shane) Gray, Joshua (spouse Amanda) Griffin, Tessa Griffin, Chance (spouse Jessica) Roberts, and Colton Griffin, his six great grandchildren Harrison, Declan, Grant, McKenzie, Poppy, and Dottie, and numerous other family members and friends.
