Sandlot Sno-Balls reportedly won the Mayor’s Cup softball tournament May 17 for the third straight year.

The event, which was held in Case Community Park, raises money for Sand Springs Community Services. This year’s event recognized former Mayor Mike Burdge and his wife, Cathy, for their work coordinating the last 14 Mayor’s Cups.

Sand Springs Community Services Executive Director Nathan Woodmansee said those events raised more than $40,000 for the nonprofit, which provides temporary assistance for people in crisis situations. The 2019 event reportedly raised about $3,000.

Webco, Baker Hughes, Air Solutions, Sandlot Sno-balls, Ducks Unlimited, Rib Crib, Sand Springs Sports Alumni and HillSpring Church each had a team at this year’s event.

Vice Mayor Patty Dixon threw the first pitch and the Air Solutions Heating and Cooling team was the runner up.
