Coweta Arrests

Motorists traveling in and through Coweta for the next several days will see an increased police presence on city streets and highways.

Coweta Police Chief Mike Bell said the Coweta Police Department will have enhanced traffic enforcement from 6 a.m. Thursday, July 4 through 12 midnight Sunday, July 7. During that time frame, all traffic violations will be cited and no warnings will be issued.

Officers will be watching for impaired drivers, speeders, those running traffic lights, individuals not wearing seat belts and those driving vehicles with defective equipment, among other traffic violations.

“With this being a holiday weekend, there will be a lot of people on the roads who may be drinking and driving or driving under the influence of drugs or marijuana,” Bell said. “Our goal is to keep everyone on the roads and highway safe.”
