Nearly two dozen volunteers were at Elmwood Cemetery and Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner on Wednesday, May 20 to place American flags on the graves of all military veterans who are interred there.

The flag program is a service of American Legion Post 153. Susan Bevel, president of the American Legion Auxiliary, said a total of 1,100 flags were distributed and placed.

All veteran graves could be identified over the Memorial Day weekend by old glory flying proudly in the Oklahoma breeze at the their headstones.
