The Wagoner City Public Library completed its high-flying first week with a nifty Litespeed Airshow on Thursday, June 6 in the Civic Center’s basketball court with special netting to keep the drones and crowd safe.

There were two shows that demonstrated the cool factor of drones and remote controlled airplanes.

The Litespeed crew professionally guided the flying machines. However, they resorted to foot power when one of the planes got caught in the netting during a special race.

The “pilot” did not give up and picked another plane and carried it around the course, much to the delight of the crowd in attendance.

The second week of the library’s “Universe of Stories” continues with a Mad Science performance on June 13 at 1 p.m.

On June 20, magician Doc Rogers performs at 1 p.m. on the big Civic Center stage. The month concludes on June 27 with “The Dulcimer Guy” at 1 p.m. in the Civic Center.
