Chef Anthony Card, a veteran of Tulsa hotels, casinos and fine-dining venues, has taken over the dining room at Mathis Brothers Furniture, 6611 S. 101st East Ave.

The new dining space is called Sponz (pronounced spoons) and offers breakfast and a lunch-dinner deli menu. It has a jazz theme.

“Our No. 1 breakfast seller is chicken and waffles,” Card said. “The deli menu has dishes such as steak burgers; Jazz on the Greens, a Cherry Street Farmers Market cob; and Lena Horne salad, mixed greens with raspberry vinaigrette.”

Sponz is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. It serves breakfast to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday. The whole menu is available all day Saturday and Sunday.
