Prossimo Italian Ristorante, an upscale addition to Cherry Street, is taking reservations beginning Wednesday, July 3.

The restaurant is at 1550 E. 15th St. next to Andolini’s Pizzeria. Andolini’s owners also operate Prossimo.

“This isn’t Prossimo by Andolini’s,” co-owner Mike Bausch said. “It’s its own thing.”

The white tablecloth restaurant also will have an older-than-21 prosecco bar area called Prossima Bubbles & Libations.

“The food is light, artful pasta dishes featuring vegetables and seafood,” Bausch said. “It is inspired by the Amalfi coast of Italy. Simple, sophisticated and elegant. The menu is still changing often, so we will be trying some things for a while.”

The current menu includes pasta dishes from $15 to $19, pesce (fish) $25 to $35 and carni (meat) $22 to $39.

Among the choices are duck confit ravioli, spicy paccheri alla vodka, halibut with prosecco sauce, grilled octopus, veal chop and roast chicken verde.

Prossimo will be open from 5-11 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday for now.

Reservations can be made online at the restaurant’s website,

The phone number is 918-271-5096.
