Let’s travel back in time to the early 1970s, when a trip to 21st Street and Sheridan Road could feel like a trip to another country to the south.
That’s what happened when entering a large building where, once inside, a Mexican street scene came alive, filled with the aroma of cheese enchiladas and the sound of strolling mariachi players.
At least that’s how my 9-year-old self remembers Casa Bonita.
