A Claremore man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday on Oklahoma 66 near Chelsea.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers do not yet know what happened about 4:20 p.m. at North South 4280 Road, but the crash involved a pickup truck and a motorcycle.

Michael Tarvin, the motorcycle driver, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 64, troopers reported.

The pickup driver, a 34-year-old Chelsea man, was taken to Hillcrest Hospital in Claremore, where he was treated and released. His passenger, a 37-year-old Disney woman, refused treatment at the scene, troopers reported.

It is unclear whether seat belts were in use in the pickup, but Tarvin was wearing a helmet, the report states.

The cause of the crash, as well as the drivers’ conditions, is under investigation.
