TAHLEQUAH - A woman who was arrested earlier this month after one of her foster children was found dead was charged Monday with first-degree murder.
Delila Pacheco, 47, was arrested Dec. 10 after 2-year-old Alysa Horney was found unresponsive at Pacheco's home in Woodall, southwest of Tahlequah.
Horney had minor bruises on her body when paramedics examined her, but further investigation revealed that the girl had a lacerated liver, according to a Cherokee County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Pacheco and her husband were both questioned by authorities, but only she was arrested.
She is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, according to court records.
