The Tulsa Police Department has scheduled a DUI checkpoint somewhere in north Tulsa this weekend.

The checkpoint is scheduled from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday night. The exact location has not yet been revealed.

The effort is part of the department’s “continued commitment to reducing injuries and deaths, and raising awareness about the dangers caused by alcohol and drug-impaired drivers,” according to a news release.

The special enforcement is part of the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office ENDUI program. All overtime costs are covered by a grant, the release stated.

Officers will be assisted by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department.
