PAWHUSKA — Osage County prosecutors charged two former corrections officers on allegations of rape and importing contraband.

Carmen Darlene Pogue, 33, of Cleveland, Oklahoma, is charged with two counts of first-degree rape and bribery of fiduciary, according to court records. Pogue resigned in September from her post as corporal at Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy.

Pogue allegedly had sex with two inmates in mid-2016 and September 2016, according to a probable cause affidavit. Investigators allege that she admitted to having unprotected intercourse twice with two inmates.

While under investigation, Pogue “offered information regarding employee Cade Carlson,” Oklahoma Department of Corrections Special Agent Randy Knight states in an affidavit.

“According to Pogue, employee Carlson was introducing contraband” to an inmate, Knight states.

Carlson was a captain at the same facility. He was allegedly bringing contraband to one of the inmates with whom Pogue allegedly had intercourse.

Pogue denied bringing “illegal contraband” to inmates. However, she allegedly told Knight she brought an inmate clothing and a silver ring, according to the affidavit.

Carlson allegedly brought an inmate, on separate occasions in spring 2016, four pairs of tennis shoes, according to the affidavit. The inmate told investigators that Carlson received between $10,000 and $15,000 for delivering the boxes.

“Carlson reported he was uncertain if contraband was contained inside of the shoes and underneath the packaging material,” Knight states in the affidavit.

The inmate reportedly told investigators the boxes contained narcotics, cellphones and tobacco. Carlson told investigators he received $1,500 for the delivery, according to the affidavit.

An Osage County judge issued an arrest warrant for Carlson and Pogue on Tuesday. Sheriff’s deputies arrested and booked the two into jail Thursday, according to jail records.

Pogue and Carlson resigned last September after being interviewed by investigators, according to DOC spokesman Alex Gerszewski.
