After human remains were discovered Friday inside a Pawnee County residence that burned within the last week, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into what is being considered a suspicious death.

The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI assistance with the investigation after remains were found in the residence in the 54000 block of South 36520 Road in Cleveland, Oklahoma, authorities said.

The discovery comes nearly a week after a fire at the same residence on June 6. The OSBI indicated that the remains have yet to be identified.
