Tulsa County prosecutors charged a man with murder on an allegation that he was involved in a fatal shooting at a north Tulsa residence.

Prosecutors allege that Reginald Romone Sutton, 54, fatally shot Sidney Leon Ray, 55, in the head in the 5300 block of North Johnstown Avenue on Wednesday, according to court records.

Witnesses reported hearing an argument among three people in a garage on the block around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to a probable cause affidavit. They reported hearing a gunshot and then seeing two people jump-start a car and flee.

Police arrived to find Ray down with a gunshot wound to the head. A 911 caller reported seeing the wounded man sitting in a chair on the front porch. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police believe that Sutton abandoned multiple firearms at a nearby residence before fleeing with another individual, who has not yet been identified, the affidavit states.

Prosecutors charged Sutton with first-degree murder Thursday. He was taken into custody Thursday evening and was being questioned, police said. He was to be held without bond in the Tulsa County jail.

Ray’s killing was the city’s 22nd homicide this year.Police ask that anyone with any information about the shooting contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 918-596-COPS (2677), online at p3tips.com/918 or through the Tulsa Tips app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play or iTunes stores.
