One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Bartlesville on Saturday night.

About 8 p.m., a couple called police saying their adult son appeared to be high on drugs and they wanted him removed from the home, Bartlesville Police Capt. Jay Hastings said in a news release.

Two officers arrived on the scene and spoke with the parents, then made contact with the man inside the home in the 1300 block of South Madison Boulevard.

The officers radioed dispatch shortly afterward, asking for backup and stating a Taser had been deployed, according to the release.

The next radio traffic stated shots had been fired, and the man had died at the scene of an apparent gunshot wound, the release states. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting.

Parties involved are not yet being identified, according to the release.
