A woman died at a hospital Monday evening after being shot multiple times by a man with whom she was in a long-term relationship, police said.
Police said witnesses saw a man arguing with the woman outside the Omega Laundry, 3101 S. 101st East Ave., before grabbing a gun from a vehicle and shooting her multiple times about 8:30 p.m. He then put her in the vehicle and drove away, police were told.
She was later dropped off at a hospital, where she died, police said.
Police said the woman and man were in a long-term relationship, although they didn’t immediately know whether they were married.
Officers said the couple’s two children were in the vehicle but were dropped off safely at a relative’s house.
Police said the suspect was taken into custody without incident shortly before 10 p.m. Information about his arrest was not immediately available.
