A woman shot outside an east Tulsa laundry Monday night has been identified as the wife of the suspect in her death.
Starrinda Martin, 32, died at a hospital after her husband of four years, Roger Martin, allegedly shot her multiple times during an argument outside Omega Laundry near 31st Street and Mingo Road.
Police were called to the scene after 8:30 p.m. Roger Martin had loaded Starrinda Martin into his car and driven off, police said.
Officers worked with witnesses to broadcast a description of the car, and more than 10 minutes later, Starrinda Martin surfaced at a hospital in south Tulsa.
Homicide Sgt. Brandon Watkins said Roger Martin carried his wounded wife into Hillcrest Hospital South, 8803 S. 101st E Ave., lay her on a bed and ran.
Police were about to issue an Amber Alert for the couple’s two young children when they learned that the children had been dropped off at a relative’s home.
The 3-year-old girl and 1-year-old boy were in the car at the time of the shooting, Watkins said.
Watkins said he was unsure how many times Starrinda Martin was shot, but police found seven shell casings at the scene.
Police found Roger Martin shortly afterward in the 3900 block of South 125th East Avenue, and he was arrested without incident, Watkins said.
He was being held without bond in the Tulsa County jail on a first-degree murder complaint.
Starrinda Martin’s death is the 32nd homicide Tulsa police have investigated this year.
