Tulsa firefighters rescued an unconscious man from his motor home after it caught fire late Friday, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said.

Fire crews arrived around 9 p.m. Friday to see a recreational vehicle in the Shamrock Mobile Home Park, near the 2400 block of North Harvard Avenue, with smoke, Capt. Stan May said.

Onlookers used a brick and crowbar to try to force entry into the home, and firefighters used a specialized forcible entry tool to gain access , he said.

“The occupant was found just inside the door and rescued by firefighters led by Capt. Rob Scott,” May said. “The victim was unresponsive. TFD paramedics performed advanced life support procedures until EMSA arrived on scene.”

The man was being treated for smoke inhalation throughout the night, firefighters said.
