The Oklahoma Highway Patrol was involved in a brief pursuit of a motorcyclist on Thursday afternoon in midtown, a dispatcher said.

The pursuit, which lasted "a mile or two" involved a trooper pursuing a motorcycle about 5:05 p.m. on Sheridan and Memorial roads, the dispatcher said.

The pursuit was discontinued by the trooper because of heavy traffic in the area, the dispatcher said.

No injuries were reported.
