OKLAHOMA CITY — Glass that rained down from the Devon Tower on Wednesday can still be seen around sidewalks and streets cordoned off in downtown Oklahoma City and the cleanup effort could take days.
Currently, several streets surrounding the Devon Tower remain closed. City officials said it’s necessary as more glass could fall while Devon Energy Corp. crews work to secure parts of the building damaged during an equipment malfunction that left two workers trapped in a basket for nearly 45 minutes Wednesday.
Also closed is the Myriad Botanical Gardens.
Jim Vidmar, spokesman for the Gardens, said it will remain closed to prevent any staff or visitors from the possibility of getting injured from glass that might fall.
