A Florida man died in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Sequoyah County on Sunday morning.

Thomas West, 51, was pronounced dead at Baptist Health Center in Van Buren, Arkansas, after the crash. West was reportedly westbound in a U-Haul box truck and left the road to the right about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The truck reportedly left the highway and hit a tree after traveling about 300 feet. The crash’s cause was listed as “medical” in an Oklahoma Highway Patrol news release.
