Militia Rally

Some of our family, including a young grandson, attended the Broken Arrow Rose Festival last week. It was a lot of fun, and there were many people of all ages there.

However, our good time was interrupted by the arrival of four or five heavily armed people holding signs and flags. Evidently this was a demonstration concerning 2nd Amendment rights.

These people have every right to own guns and to carry them openly in public places. However, just because you can doesn't mean you should.

This is inappropriate behavior at such an event.

In this time of daily mass shootings, it can be frightening to see armed strangers arriving and walking around. Their demeanor was intimidating.

I would ask that these folks use their commonsense about when it is necessary and appropriate to brandish their guns.

The vast majority of gun owners seem to get this. Why can't these people?
