Tulsa’s first permanent food truck court is reopening with a new name and more planned activities.

Formerly known as The Park in the Pearl, 418 S. Peoria Ave., the food truck court is now Pearl’s Food Truck Park. Josh Lynch, owner of Dog House Tulsa and Crunch food trucks, is taking ownership of the park, and previous co-owners Joel Bein and Chris Wygle will remain active vendors with their barbecue food truck, Rub.

The name change came about when diners were confusing the food truck park with Centennial Park, which is located at Sixth Street and Peoria Avenue — a park in the Pearl District.

“People would call me and say, ‘Hey, I’m at the park in the Pearl, but I don’t see any food trucks,’ ” Lynch said.

Pearl’s Food Truck Park will be open Thursday through Sunday beginning this weekend.

Hours are 6-10 p.m. Thursday for an open jam, named Pearl’s Jam, with music from local musicians.

Starting Friday, the park will be open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and for dinner starting at 5 p.m. with a family movie night. Weekend hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Children’s entertainment during opening weekend includes face painting with Brigid Painted Faces and balloon fun with Balloon Guyz.

New activities include local markets, themed weekends, open jam nights, family movie nights and events such as JazzFest, BluesFest, KidsFest and more for families to enjoy.

“Thursday night open jam is going to be a place where they can come and jam out and play with musicians they might not typically play with,” he said. Artists are encouraged to bring their instruments to play with the house band: Cody Clinton on guitar, Bo Halford on bass and Andrew Bones on drums.

Food trucks this weekend are Stella Reauxs, Mangiamo Truck, Rub, Mr. Nice Guys, Dog House, Big Daddy’s Slider Rider, Crunch and Papos Latin/American.
