With one week to go before a Wizard World pop culture convention in Tulsa, it was announced that an actor from the original “Star Trek” series is joining the roster of celebrity guests.

The new addition is Nichelle Nichols, who played Uhura during Trek’s three-season TV run and in subsequent motion pictures.

Wizard World stages a series of pop culture conventions around the country. The Tulsa show is set for Sept. 7-9 at Cox Business Center, 100 Civic Center. For tickets and information on which days celebrity guests will attend, go to wizardworld.com.

Hale Appleman of “The Magicians” also is a new addition to the guest list. Previously announced as guests: Billy Boyd (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy), Ron Perlman (“Hellboy,” “Sons of Anarchy”), Ryan Hurst (“Sons of Anarchy”), Holly Marie Combs (“Charmed”), Brian Krause (“Charmed”), Drew Fuller (“Charmed”), Charisma Carpenter (“Angel,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) and Thomas Ian Nicholas (“Rookie of the Year,” “American Pie”).

Many celebrity guests take part in Q-and-A sessions that are free with the price of admission, but autographs and photos come at an additional charge.
