He and his wife, Melinda, own both Trenchers and Shades of Brown coffee shop in Brookside.
The 27,000-square-foot food hall being built near 11th Street and Lewis Avenue is expected to be completed in August.
The menu reflects a mix of Jewish, German, New York and French-Canadian items made from scratch.
