Oklahoma State has hired the older brother of Cade Cunningham, one the top high school basketball prospects in the country.

Cannen Cunningham, 26, will serve as an assistant on coach Mike Boynton's staff.

Cunningham, who played at SMU from 2011-15, was the associate director of video operations at Tulane last season.

As a player at SMU, Cunningham established a program record for games played with 134 and helped the Mustangs reach the 2015 NCAA Tournament. His 131 blocks ranked sixth and his 52.1 percent field goal percentage stood 10th in school history when he graduated.

John Cooper will now serve as special assistant coach Mike Boynton. He has been on Boynton's staff the past two seasons.

Cade Cunningham is ranked No. 2 in the ESPN prospect rankings. Originally from Texas, the 6-foot-7 guard is entering his senior season at Montverde Academy in Florida. With his older brother now at OSU, the Cowboys are considered one of the front-runners to land the touted prospect.
