Oklahoma State center fielder Trevor Boone became the first Cowboy to have three career three-home run games as OSU clobbered Texas on Thursday in Stillwater.

Not to be outdone by the offense, Jensen Elliott (5-2) pitched a one-hitter for the Cowboys (23-13, 8-5 Big 12), striking out seven and walking two.

Boone went 4-for-5 with five RBIs. The Cowboys used a 10-run eighth inning to put away the Longhorns (24-16, 5-7).

Game 2 is 6:35 p.m. Friday.


OU 3, Texas 1

Giselle Juarez struck out 10, walked one and scattered five hits as No. 1 Oklahoma edged No. 11/10 Texas in Austin, Texas.

OU (39-2, 10-0 Big 12) has won 29 straight games, the nation’s longest active streak.

The Sooners also have won 35 straight Big 12 games, extending a program and conference record. Also, OU has claimed 16 consecutive wins against the Longhorns.

The Sooners broke a scoreless tie with Sydney Romero’s two-run single in the fifth inning. They made it 3-0 on Kyle Lundberg’s pinch-hit RBI double in the seventh.

Texas fell to 36-10, 7-4. The Longhorns scored on a single, double and a one-out wild pitch in the bottom half, but Juarez induced two pop-ups to put out the threat.

Fale Aviu and Jocelyn Alo each had two hits for OU.

Game 2 is 6 p.m. Friday.

Tulsa 4, UCF 2

Tulsa rallied for all four of its runs in the sixth inning to pull out the American Athletic Conference victory at Collins Family Softball Complex.

Tori Stafford drove in TU’s first run with a double, Alexis Perry followed with a two-run double and Smith’s single scored the fourth for the Hurricane (29-15, 10-3).

Five TU players each collected a hit. Kassidy Scott (8-4) went the distance for TU, allowing one earned run on five hits, striking out two and walking one.

Game 2 is 4 p.m. Friday.
