Former Oklahoma State offensive lineman Shane Richards was the first pick in the Canadian Football League draft Thursday night.
Richards was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts after a senior year in which he started five games for the Cowboys at right guard or right tackle, helping OSU average 205.8 rushing yards in those games. He missed four games because of injury but returned for the Liberty Bowl in December.
Listed at 6 foot-8 and 336 pounds, Richards was born in Jamaica but raised in Canada. He spent two seasons in junior college and appeared in four games for OSU as a junior in 2016 before redshirting the following year.
